Report on the general meeting and information day 2026 of Grand Coeur

On January 31, 2026, members, supporters, and interested guests gathered for Grand Coeur’s general meeting and information day. The event took place in an open and warm atmosphere and was enriched by the digital participation of members from Benin. This gathering once again demonstrated the strength of the commitment and solidarity within our network across national borders.

Looking back on an eventful year in 2025

A central part of the event was the presentation of the 2025 annual report. This clearly showed how much had been achieved in the past year. The organization was able to further develop its projects in the areas of education, inclusion, and medical and social support, and to advance important infrastructure measures.

Particularly noteworthy is the close cooperation with local partner institutions, which helps to bring about lasting change for people in difficult life situations. This positive development encourages us to continue on our path with determination.

Dialogue, participation, and new impetus

In the subsequent exchange, participants took the opportunity to ask questions, contribute ideas, and discuss perspectives. This open dialogue is an important part of our work, as it strengthens transparency, trust, and shared learning.

One encouraging result of the day was the growing interest in active participation: new members were recruited, and several guests indicated their willingness to become sponsors. This trust is invaluable to our work.

Looking ahead: Establishment and further development

Another focus was on the strategic goals for 2026. These include, in particular, the further structural development of the association in Germany, the adaptation of organizational framework conditions, and the prioritization of projects in line with available resources.

Our goal remains clear: to strengthen the impact of our programs in the long term and reach even more people.

Medical and academic exchange

A particularly forward-looking item on the agenda was the professional exchange in the medical field. Prospects for work shadowing and further training should enable specialists from Benin to gain valuable experience and then transfer their knowledge to their home context.

Students and trainees also showed great interest in practical placements at partner institutions, an important step for long-term cooperation and knowledge transfer.

Community, gratitude, and solidarity

After the official part, a shared African meal provided an opportunity for personal encounters. These moments of exchange and community are an essential part of our work, because they make it clear that behind all projects there are above all people who are wholeheartedly committed to their work.

We would like to express our special thanks to all members, volunteers, and supporters who contributed to the success of the event with their time, ideas, and energy.

outlook

The meeting ended on a very positive and motivating note. Together, we want to continue to grow, attract new members, and expand our projects in a sustainable manner.
